Nokia Lumia 630 Battery Life is excellent

Windows Phone is a pretty optimized operating system and it appears that Nokia has optimized WP8.1 even further with the Cyan update.  The Nokia Lumia 630 comes with a decent 1830mAh removable battery. We tested the phone and it has excellent standby times and it definitely hold the charge wonderfully when not in use.

Its quad core Snapdragon 400 processor is very efficient and helps in delivering great battery life figures. We tested it and were left with 37 percent battery at the end of the day. During the day, we:

* Made 1 hour of phone calls
* Sent 20-25 SMS messages
* WiFi and 3G kept on at all times to ensure we do not miss a single email. We get 20-30 emails in a day and we reply to 50% of them.
* Spent 1 hour doing surfing using WiFi with brightness set to medium
* Spent 0.5 hour surfing using 3G
* Played Rayman for about 0.5 hour

Next day, we did some unreal testing such as doing calls with 3G on. Under this test, we got 14.5 hours of use. We charged the battery again and did the web browsing test where we set the brightness to medium. In this the Lumia 630 gave us 7.5 hours of use. Excellent – very.

Here are some tips to extend battery life runtimes

1. Use phone with low brightness: On the start screen, swipe down from the top of the screen, and tap ALL SETTINGS > brightness and switch Level to low. We recommend doing this when the evening starts or in dark rooms.

2. Only select sounds you need: Settings > ringtones+‎sounds and select which sounds to keep. We recommend muting unnecessary sounds, such as key press sounds.

3. Always use WiFi connection to use Internet whenever possible rather than mobile data.

3. Turn Bluetooth off if it is not in use.

4. Set your 630 to check emails less frequently. In every mailbox you have, tap options icon > settings > sync settings, and select how often to sync.
