Asus VM590 Specifications, laptop with GeForce 940M GPU and 4K display

Asus Taiwan has launched a new 4K laptop called Asus Vivobook VM590 that integrates Broadwell CPU, Nvidia GeForce 940 GPU and 15.6 inch 4K display. It will cost about 1000 euros or 1100 dollars.

Asus VM590 15.6 inch display packs IPS technology and packs a resolution of 3840 x 2150 pixels which is ultra HD (also known as 4K). This display panel gives you 282 PPI, 100% sRGB, 72% NTSC and ASUS Splendid Video intelligence that optimizes playback of video streams by adjusting brightness.

The Asus VM590 is not as high end as Asus Zenbook NX500 laptops and is probably meant for medium end market, the people who are not looking for super high end laptops.

ASUS VivoBook 4K is equipped with an Intel Core i7-5500U (Broadwell) processor, but we are also expecting Asus to upgrade processors to Skylake, 4GB of RAM, 1TB storage (more than 1TB free for one year on ASUS WebStorage) and Nvidia GeForce 940M Graphics combined with integrated graphics.

The kit includes three USB ports (including 2x USB 3.0), VGA and HDMI, audio jack, SD card slot as well as 802.11ac WiFi modules, Bluetooth 4.0 and Gigabit Ethernet for wired connections. Asus VM590 measures 382 x 256 x 253 mm and weighs 2.3 kg, includes a 37-WHr battery and a DVD burner.
